Ad Board
Next meeting… February 7th Thursday… 11:50AM-12:40PM
I have not received minutes from any student who was taking notes at either of the most recent two Ad Board meetings.
Here are my recollections of those meetings.
November 1, 2007
• This was the first daytime meeting.
• A quorum was present.
• There was no agenda presented.
• Patrick McGownd and Tonei G were elected as co-chairs of the Ad Board.
• Secretary… Chris J nominated himself and was elected.
• The Chief of Operations was identified as the Op Group Chair.
• The position of Parliamentarian was tabled to a subsequent meeting.
• Archivist… Kellen M nominated herself and was elected.
• Tonei’s proposal to hold 4 meetings per year was modified slightly, nominated by Mike Jungreis and accepted. The proposal read as follows:
Whereas Advisory Board is a vital part of the Steller government, and
Whereas student involvement in the Advisory Board is absolutely critical, and Noting that student participation has been dwindling constantly over the years, and Recognizing that the scheduling of Advisory Board makes it difficult for may students to attend,
Therefore, be it resolved that the Steller Advisory Board shall hold no less tan two meetings per semester on a Thursday during lunch, replacing (was “in conjunction with”) the Operational Group’s meeting.
• Following this, I presented ideas for replacing the Robert’s Rules of Order model of conducting meetings with consensus building.
• The meeting was adjourned with recognition that the next meeting would be held on December 5, 2007.
December 5, 2007
Although notes were being recorded by two students, Lorryn W and Chris J, I have not seen copies of the minutes. Below is my recollection of the meeting.

• Tonei’s Daytime Advisory Board Proposal was read and recognized as having been passed at the November meeting.

• Parliamentarian. There was a motion by Kim to indefinetly not elect the parliamentarian. The motion was seconded and passed.
• There was a request that all minutes be sent to Tonei to include those parents and students in attendance.
• There was a continuation of a student discussion regarding the ethics committee. This was a very good discussion.
• Sean McNulty… asked question about the computer lab and monitoring. Larry Nevada responded.
• Larry Nevada… All Community Meeting… plan for the next semester to be presented regarding the three study groups… orientation, staff development, and advisory group

What is the purpose of the Advisory Board? Setting a goal/purpose will draw more people to the group.
