2012/2013 1st Semester Registration

We are going to register for the 2012-2013 1st semester on Friday, May 11th.  This will change our scheduled classes for that week.
Monday – Friday Schedule with no Advisory Group
Tuesday through Thursday – regularly scheduled classes
Friday – Register as per grade level (grade level for 2012/2013 School Year)

12th and 8th  8am-10am

11th and 10th 10am-12pm

9th 1-2:30pm

KCC Tours

KCC Tours will be conducted every Tuesday evening at 6:00 from now until May.  The only exceptions will be during HSGQE testing, spring break, etc.

Please let students, parents, staff know they can come tour KCC any Tuesday at 6:00.

Bone Lab in Philip’s Class

Friday, October 21st, 2011

Check out the bone lab in Philip’s class.  Students were enthralled with how the joints articulated.  It was fun to watch as they discovered all the different parts of bones and identified them.

After School Chinese I & II Class

Tuesday, September 27th, 2011

Starts next Tuesday, October 4th
Class will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15-3:15pm in Natalie’s Room
Students who participated in the Chinese class last year should bring the book they received last year with them.

Drama Returns to Steller!!!

Drama will be held after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning the 28th of September.  Steller is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Ware as the new Drama Coach.   Please sign up in the office to participate in Drama.

Mentorship Program

The Anchorage School District Gifted Mentorship Program is taking applications for the 2011-12 school year!
Deadline for submission is September 30th at 3:00pm!!!!!!
Even if you are planning a second semester mentorship you still need to have your application in by this date!

KCC Tours

Anchorage Youth Court

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Anchorage Youth Court trains youth in grades 7‐12, who are between the ages of 12 and 18, to represent and judge their peers in actual criminal cases. Anchorage/Eagle River/ Chugiak/Girdwood youth serve as clerk, bailiffs, prosecuting and defense attorneys, and judges.

Why Join?

• Help other students and the community

• Earn community work service hours

• Gain skills: leadership, teambuilding, team work, public speaking, etc.

• Recommendation letters & scholarship possibilities

• High school students may earn high school elective credit

Classes begin the week of September 19th. Students may register for any class location regardless of where they attend school.
