Passage Share Tonight (Thursday 6p-7:30p)

Come and support the fine efforts of our Steller students by viewing their cool Passage Projects tonight (Thursday)  from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room and throughout the school. All Passage students are expected to be presenting their handiwork and will be available to explain their process and answer questions. This is a great opportunity to have a positive evening experience with students who will really appreciate your presence. Everyone is invited. See you there!

Steller February Freeze Up Run – Update


What you can do to help:
 *   Register at skinnyraven.com under ‘Other Timed Races’ to participate
 *   Grab a poster or flyer from the front office and post at your younger children’s school, workplace, exercise spot, or coffee shop.
 *   Volunteer at the bib pick up on February 1 at Steller from 4:30-6:30 pm
 *   Bake cookies for the bib pick up on Feb 1
 *   Invite neighbors and friends to register
 *   Share this Facebook Event to spread the word online (this is key)
 *   Send your children out on fun run day to set up the course, participate in the event, or take down the course.

We are hosting a RUN!

As a joint effort between staff, parents, and students, we will be hosting our first annual February Freeze Up RUN fundraiser on February 3rd at the Abbott Loop Community Park trails.   This is a big fundraising event for Steller and we are off to a good start.   Skinny Raven is handling the online registration (not open yet), and we will be organizing a BIB Pickup event on Feb 1st at Steller as well as staffing the run/walk event.    Your event leaders are:   Becky Gerik, Marianne Pedersen, Leigh Anne Bonney, Karen Gillis, and Kari Hall along with students Emily McKenzie, Natalie Buttner, and Jacob Nunn and more.    This event comes up pretty fast, so stay tuned to our Flash updates.  Flyers and Posters (like below) will be available soon in the office for you to help us distribute to your workplace, and other places.

This will be a fun run/walk event to not only help with funding but will also help Steller gain awareness in the community.

Parent Group Meeting Tonight! 6pm (Tues)

The Parent Group is holding it’s monthly meeting tonight starting promptly at 6:00pm. We will be meeting in Ken’s room at Steller Secondary.  Your participation, your voice, and your vote are all essential to the health and effectiveness of this community group.  Students are always welcome to attend and may wish to bring a proposal, a funding request, or to communicate student ideas or concerns.   In addition, we will be announcing some open officer positions at this meeting, and we welcome your interest in any of these roles.

Last call for Steller Directory

This is the last call for your family to be listed in the Steller Directory for this school year.   If you’re not aware of the change, we are using a new online directory service called MySchoolAnywhere.  With your computer or an app on your phone, you can search our community by parents name, students name, and faculty, as well as view the school calendar for event information.  Take a moment to make sure you are listed by following the link below and entering your students last name and your primary email address.  We would love to have you in our directory this year.  Your information is kept private, and only our Steller community has access.

Steller Auction Results and Short Survey

If you participated in this years Steller Auction, we would like to thank you! Your auction purchases and donations last week netted over $10,000 dollars. Now the auction committee would like to hear from you! Parent Group Meeting Rescheduled

Notice:  The Parent Group meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled to the following Tuesday on October 10th due to scheduling conflicts.

We are also announcing that going forward, Parent Group meetings will now occur on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.   We all hope you can make the new monthly meeting date.
