Steller Anniversary Plans!

Congratulations and thank you to Ky Hollingsworth for joining SPG! 

Ky is our dedicated Committee Lead for the 50th Anniversary Celebrations for fall and has been hard at work in the background, planning events, securing donations and communicating with our Alumni Community. She has also generously stepped up to be Co-Treasurer! 

Save the Date!

Friday September 13

  • Open House at Steller in the afternoon (details TBA) for students, staff, parents/guardians Alumni and the wider community. Light refreshments, tour the school, library dedication and more.
  • Dinner at Bridge Co. for the adult members of our community. Tickets will be on sale soon.

Saturday September 14

  • Open House & Dance for Steller Alumni (details TBA)

Please join us at the last SPG meeting of the year on Tuesday, May 14th to hear the plans from out planning committee.

Gift Cards Wanted

If you have unused Gift Cards (that still have value on them) please consider turning them into the office. Maria can use them for staff incentives like door prizes, to recognize when staff go above and beyond, for special events etc. It’s an easy way to recognize the staff who work so hard for our students!

What: Iron Giant Movie at Bear Tooth Theatre AND Steller Auction

When: Sunday, April 21 1:00pm

Who: This event is open to the public. We want to fill the theatre with Steller families and supporters.

Why: Part of the proceeds go the Steller Parent Group. 

How: Tickets are on sale now at https://beartooththeatre.filmbot.com/movies/the-iron-giant-1999/ . Keep your eyes open for the link to the exclusive Steller Auction featuring;

  • a Cabin Stay in Girdwood, just steps for the chairlift
  • a beautiful apartment in San Francisco

How can you help:

  • Donate an experience or similar to our auction (gift certificate to a Girdwood Restaurant, a unique Alaska Experience or similar)
  • Volunteer the day of our event

Recruiting for Steller Parent Group Positions Now

It’s that time of year – we are recruiting for the 2024-2025 Steller Parent Group! 

We currently have open positions to work alongside our current board, learn the ropes and share the work load: 

  • a co-chair to work alongside Dee Dee 
  • a co-treasurer to work alongside Kirsten 

The idea behind having two co-positions is so that there is always one more experienced person with institutional knowledge so that no one has to come in and figure everything out on their own. How each pair choses to divide the work is up to them. You do not need any experience in either position – just a desire to contribute and willingness to learn.

If you are interested in either position please reach out! We are a friendly group and have lots of fun while we work together to make Steller a great place of learning for our students.
