Parent Group Meeting Minutes from 12/19/07
Called to order @ 5:40 pm
NEXT PARENT GROUP MEETING: January 31, 2008! @ 5:30 pm (bring snacks to share, and we’ll have some too) followed by the all community meeting @ 7 pm
Principal’s Report: Karin Parker
Do we want the registration survey on line or in newsletter? A consensus arranged that we’ll do both. Parents should look for survey coming in January and reply ASAP.
Treasurer’s Report: Mary Tanner
$ 7, 589.60 in checking
$ 5, 705.00 (82 families donating)
$ 1, 259.08 total from e-scrip; ($116.08 in e-scrip just in the past month! 149 families signed up)
50 raffle tickets sold and 150 tickets still out; $2,000 in potential revenue
Joe Banta requested $150 for web site purchase reimbursement
Old Business
*Nurse Wendy submitted request for pulse oximeter; $250 approved for Nurse. *A request was made to notify parents if a student is visiting for lunch for than 3 times so that parents are aware of how much their student is visiting the nurse to be fed.
*A student group has formed to work @ the alternative school’s fair in January. Another team of students will travel w/ Steller’s counselor to speak at elementary schools .
* Academic component for intensives: Joe Banta & Cheryl Childers will work up a proposal.
New Business
*James Crimp gave a student presentation Re: “greening Steller” w/ an Energy Efficiency program.
*The auction will be March 21st preview @ 5 pm, 6 pm starting time; volunteers still needed to gather donations and help on the night of the auction; contact Ingrid Parrish to volunteer.
*Discussion about possibility of parent/teacher/student conferences being once more during the year instead of just at the end w/ the advisor; send comments about this to peggyc@gci.net.
