Student Absense Make-up Work Responsibility

The teaching staff has noticed a trend with regard to work assigned for students who are on long-term (3 days or more) absence.  Work assigned to those students has not been turned in upon arrival back from vacation/family leave/etc. In order to keep current with the class, students need to be carving out time while gone to work on those assignments given to them.  Work is due upon return to class, extended time is not to be expected.  There may also be work that was done during class time that the student will be expected to make up upon return to class.
The procedure for extended absence includes notification of your student’s advisor, a parent signature on the leave form acknowledging the assignments given and finally the principal’s signature on the form.  We suggest that a copy of the leave slip be placed in the student’s advisory group folder and , of course, that the original accompany the student along with materials needed to complete the work.  Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation on this matter.
