College Workshops

The enthusiastic response to the last college night has inspired Paula, Mike and Karen to propose more workshops. Steller is such a small community that we could, very likely, offer “one on one” college counseling to everyone who is interested.
Other topics might be:
- How to choose a college
- Financial Aid 101
- Testing Requirements - What and When: PSAT, PLAN, ACT, SAT, Subject Tests
- How to apply
- Concentrating on what needs to be submitted in addition to the application (transcripts, scores, supplement if required, etc)
- Using the Internet in your college search
- Letters of recommendation
- Making the student portfolio
- Scholarship search
We want to offer the workshops at a time that the largest groups of students and parents can benefit. Here are several suggestions for the best times :
1. Lunch on Thursdays (You name the hours; Karen is here all day.)
2. Immediately after school, or
3. Evenings
Please let one of us know what your first choice would be.
