Parent Group, All School Meetings, etc.
V. Parent Group
Bylaw Speak: The parent group will promote parent involvement in school activities.
Translation: The parent group, which is composed of parents of current Steller students can encourage parent participation. They have organized so that they have meetings once a month directly after Ad. Board.
VI. All School Meetings
When an all school meeting is called, all current students and teachers meet before, during or immediately after the school day. All school meetings can be called by anyone - all you need to do is schedule a meeting time with the principal. Don’t try to be tricky and plan a pointless all school meeting - the person who calls the meeting has to lead it.
IX. Recycling
A school-wide, counseling group recycling program should run Steller’s recycling program. Each counseling group takes control of aluminum recycling on a biweekly basis. To get involved in the recycling program, you should go to an environmental club meeting.
The Bylaws — why are they important?
Uh well, I actually don’t know much about the bylaws….
Stephanie, 11th
I don’t know much about them, but I think they’re effective and important. I think we need to add some more to them.
Liz, 11th
Despite how many times I’ve read them, I still don’t understand.
Sam, 12th
I think that the bylaws are important because they’re a document that has been around as long as the school, and even as the school changes it’s good to have something that rarely changes.
Melissa, 9th
I haven’t read them, but I understand what you have to do to organize meetings and stuff, which is the stuff in the bylaws. They’re important.
