The Steller participants created a variety of images based on their thoughts about peace.\u00c2\u00a0 Images ranged from personal experiences of peace, how peace could be made throughout the world, to symbols of peace, such as peace as a small plant to be nurtured.<\/p>\n<p>The Lion\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Club created the Peace Poster Contest 25 years ago to foster the spirit of peace and international understanding in young people worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Molly R\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s poster was chosen to represent Steller Secondary School. Her poster was then selected as the state-wide winner, to represent Alaska in the national judging later this month in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>Molly wrote about her entry:<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153When some people think of peace, they think of no sadness, no anger or pain. To me, we still have all these feelings, we just don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t act on the more violent ones.\u00c2\u00a0 When you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re little, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re taught to talk things out rather than fight. Sometimes the most basic lessons can save a life of even a nation. All you have to do is start with a few little seeds of hope and compassion, diplomacy and faith.
