Not these\u00c2\u00a0teenagers. More than two dozen middle and high school students in\u00c2\u00a0<em><em><em>grades 8-12 from 10 different local schools will begin the Spring\u00c2\u00a0Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute training on Monday,\u00c2\u00a0<\/em><\/em><\/em><em><em><em>March 11 and spend all week learning creative leadership skills which\u00c2\u00a0prepare them to do volunteer projects which improve Anchorage.<\/em><\/em><\/em>Alaska PYLI is a nationally recognized service leadership training\u00c2\u00a0designed by the Center For Creative Leadership which encourages\u00c2\u00a0and prepares young people to be actively involved in addressing\u00c2\u00a0community needs and problems. The Alaska PYLI Institute will take\u00c2\u00a0<em id=\"__mceDel\"><em id=\"__mceDel\"><em id=\"__mceDel\"><em id=\"__mceDel\">place at the Salvation Army Anchorage Corps Community Center\u00c2\u00a0at 1701 C Street from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Friday, March 15.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Sponsored by Prudential Jack White Vista Real Estate in partnership\u00c2\u00a0with schools, youth organizations, UAA TriO, Alaska Salvation Army,\u00c2\u00a0and Friends of Alaska PYLI, Alaska PYLI helps implement the national\u00c2\u00a0Prudential Spirit of Community Initiative giving youth critically important\u00c2\u00a0leadership skills to be successful in school, higher education, careers,\u00c2\u00a0community and life.
