{"id":15323,"date":"2017-04-21T15:39:58","date_gmt":"2017-04-22T00:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stellerschool712.org\/main\/?p=15323"},"modified":"2017-04-21T15:39:58","modified_gmt":"2017-04-22T00:39:58","slug":"funding-cuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stellerschool712.org\/main\/funding-cuts\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding cuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Parents and Students,<br \/>\n<strong>The Steller staff is being reduced.<\/strong><br \/>\nDue to educational funding cutbacks, ASD has reorganized the amount of teachers in a building based on teacher-to-student ratios.<br \/>\nOur state legislators are working in Juneau and are considering CUTTING even more of the educational budget.<br \/>\nWe hear different positions in the news. From my understanding, the current cuts are most definitely going to affect what we can offer our students (including Intensives).&nbsp; These cuts will affect your child\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s education.<\/p>\n<p>What does this mean to Steller?<\/p>\n<p>With the original funding cuts, and an increase in our projected enrollment, we currently are losing 1.4 teachers. This equates to two teachers!<br \/>\nIn addition to the loss of the individuals who are a part of our close-knit community, we are currently trying to schedule next year with eight less classes per semester and 2-4 less Intensives per semester offered.<br \/>\n<strong>There are many different outlets to voice your reactions to the above news.
