Last December Volunteers of America<\/a> hosted a town hall event titled Wellbeing During Covid: Underage Alcohol Use and Prevention Strategies<\/em>. We deemed the event a success after receiving positive feedback from the attendees and suggestions on what other types of virtual events would be beneficial to our community.<\/p>\n We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve gathered some ideas regarding events needed for our community and are excited to announce that on April 28th<\/sup>, 2021 from 6:00pm \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 7:30pm we will be hosting a virtual conversation titled Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Talk About It: The Power of Connection.<\/strong> This conversation will be teen focused and include teen led breakout groups focusing on healthy conversations regarding peer pressure, self-advocacy, and sober activities.<\/p>\n In preparation, we have collaborated with teen housing and treatment facilities such as the Covenant House Alaska, ARCH, and The Pathway Home to make this event accessible to teen clients in their care.
