Our intensive trips have run into a roadblock and we need your help to get approval from the school board. <\/strong>If you’re willing to help, it would be incredibly impactful for the school board to hear directly from parents.<\/strong> Please read about the issue with travel intensives below. Sending a brief letter or email sharing why international travel matters to your family and why you’d like to see an international Intensive option approved for May 2027 could make a real difference.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Crowe and Clare Foster have been working on planning the travel intensive trip for May 2027. Unfortunately, the planning has been at a standstill<\/strong> because our proposed travel dates overlap with the Day of Arafah (an Islamic holiday), which begins at sundown on May 15 and continues through May 16<\/strong>. At this point, the district is not approving any district-sponsored activities during that time. The challenge is that those dates fall right in the middle weekend of our spring Intensives. <\/strong>That leaves us with very limited options, so we don’t interfere with finals or graduation.<\/p>\n

International travel offers lessons that extend far beyond the classroom. Many students later reflect that these experiences had a profound and lasting influence on their personal growth and future aspirations. My hope is that we can preserve this opportunity. <\/p>\n

Below are the proposal and itinerary for our Thailand trip<\/strong>, which is the option being developed. Greece is also being explored as an alternative, and both destinations received a lot of enthusiasm from students.<\/p>\n
