2011 Confucius Institute Summer Camp to China for High School Students: NOW ACCEPTTING APPLICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAll expenses in China.<\/em><\/strong> You only need to pay a registration fee of $150.00, an international round trip air ticket from Anchorage to Beijing, Chinese visa application fee ($140.00) and international travel insurance.
\nWHAT DO YOU DO IN SUMMER CAMP?
\n<\/strong>Studying Chinese language and culture (martial arts, brush painting, calligraphy, art of tea-making, Chinese knotting, \u00c2\u00a0and other cultural workshops and lectures.); local sightseeing(Beijing and Shanghai); visiting Chinese schools; visiting local Chinese families.
\nHOW LONG WILL THE SUMMER CAMP BE?
\n<\/strong>Two weeks.
\nWHO IS QUALIFIED TO APPLY?
\nHigh school students (including grade 12 who will graduate high school this summer and grade 8 who will be going to Grade 9 this fall<\/em><\/strong>). No Chinese language background required.
\n<\/strong>Two school district teachers are wanted to lead the group. Chaperons\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 international round trip air ticket and all the expenses in China will be covered.
\nSubmit your application form (Student <http:\/\/www.uaa.alaska.edu\/ci\/upload\/Summer-Camp-Student-Application-Form-new-version.pdf<\/a><\/span>> \/Chaperon <http:\/\/www.uaa.alaska.edu\/ci\/upload\/Summer-Camp-Teacher-Application-Form.pdf<\/a><\/span>> )together with a one-page statement (a self-introduction and reasons why you want to join the camp etc.) and a recommendation letter from your teacher to us by April 30<\/strong>. First come first serve! You can either email us the application materials at UAACI@uaa.alaska.edu<\/span> or fax them to 907-786-1060.
