April 11-16 National Library Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

Look for activities in the Library,\u00c2\u00a0 including Japan Day displays on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Consider donating a book to the library this week.\u00c2\u00a0 You could choose your own favorite or add something interesting from your own collection.<\/p>\n

Steller parent, Steller grad, and Author,\u00c2\u00a0Charles Wohlforth\u00c2\u00a0who recently made donations to the library.<\/p>\n

The Steller library benefited greatly this year from the donations the community made to the Titlewave account.\u00c2\u00a0 57 books were added to the collection.\u00c2\u00a0 Does anyone out there have a copy of Garth Nix,\u00c2\u00a0 Keys to the Kingdom, Superior Saturday and Lord Sunday books?\u00c2\u00a0 We have some students looking for them, and Titlewave hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t gotten them in.<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Library closing\u00c2\u00a0 – <\/strong><\/p>\n

Library book circulation will close on April 22.\u00c2\u00a0 All books should be returned by then.<\/p>\n

May is intensives and the last wrap-up week, so that will provide some extra time if needed for returns.\u00c2\u00a0 Overdue notices will be followed by calls to parents to expedite the return of books, thereby avoiding fines.\u00c2\u00a0 Fines for hardback books are generally $25 unless it is a nom-fiction\u00c2\u00a0 book which are generally more.\u00c2\u00a0 Paperback books are usually $10.\u00c2\u00a0 You can avoid the higher fee by REPLACING a lost book.\u00c2\u00a0 A copy from Titlewave in good condition is perfectly acceptable.<\/p>\n

Volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some of you faithfully worked every other week. Many of you answered calls for substitutes and came in to keep the library open. Others helped in the background as previewers.\u00c2\u00a0 Your help is so necessary to the library program, and appreciated greatly by me and by every student, parent or faculty member that has access to the library because you are there.\u00c2\u00a0 Thank you again.<\/p>\n

Intensives<\/strong><\/p>\n

Volunteers are needed in to supervise the library both morning and afternoons during intensives. Karen is out of town.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 The students aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t doing research, but the library space and the computers are very popular.\u00c2\u00a0 Beth Rademaker is in charge of scheduling.<\/p>\n

Retirement<\/span><\/p>\n

I am retiring after 12 years at Steller.\u00c2\u00a0 I want to thank you all who have been so gracious and helpful to me over the years.\u00c2\u00a0 Steller is indeed a special place and community and I feel blessed to have served here.<\/p>\n
