The Steller community has been approached by a local business to provide lunches for our students.\u00c2\u00a0 The business, Root Down is currently serving\u00c2\u00a0Aquarian Charter school,\u00c2\u00a0 Winterberry, Rilke Schule, Pacific Northern\u00c2\u00a0Academy and Anchorage Montessori.<\/p>\n
Lunches are $5.50 if ordered in\u00c2\u00a0advance and $6 if ordered the same day before 9 a.m.\u00c2\u00a0 They make an\u00c2\u00a0effort to use locally available food, organic when possible, and offer a\u00c2\u00a0variety of well balanced, portion appropriate meals.\u00c2\u00a0 Vegetarian options\u00c2\u00a0can be ordered as well.\u00c2\u00a0 Packaging is corn based and more landfill\u00c2\u00a0friendly than most (and, in other warmer climates, even biodegradable).<\/p>\n
A brief survey will be posted shortly, asking whether or not you and\u00c2\u00a0your students are interested in having nutritious lunches delivered to\u00c2\u00a0Steller by Root Down Catering.\u00c2\u00a0 The more people respond, the better\u00c2\u00a0gauge we will have on whether we want to take advantage of this\u00c2\u00a0opportunity.<\/p>\n
