Alaska Airlines is inviting\u00c2\u00a0 school-age children from throughout the state to enter its \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Paint the Plane\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 contest to create artwork to adorn an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-400 jet in\u00c2\u00a0 honor of the state\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 50th anniversary in 2009.<\/p>\n
Students in grades K-12 from public, private and home schools in the state of Alaska can submit designs\u00c2\u00a0 that best capture the theme of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Spirit of Alaska.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0 A final selection panel comprised of artists and other dignitaries from throughout Alaska will select the winning design, which will be\u00c2\u00a0 revealed Jan. 3, 2009, the date commemorating Alaska \u00e2\u20ac\u2122s\u00c2\u00a0 statehood.<\/p>\n
The student with the winning\u00c2\u00a0 design, as well as a finalist from each grade level, will receive a trip to\u00c2\u00a0 Disneyland Resort.\u00c2\u00a0 In all, 13 trips for four to Disneyland Resort \u00e2\u20ac\u201d\u00c2\u00a0 including round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and tickets to the park \u00e2\u20ac\u201d\u00c2\u00a0 will be awarded.<\/p>\n
