{"id":9678,"date":"2008-04-25T07:12:12","date_gmt":"2008-04-25T16:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stellerschool712.org\/announcements\/note-from-the-principal"},"modified":"2008-04-25T07:12:12","modified_gmt":"2008-04-25T16:12:12","slug":"note-from-the-principal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stellerschool712.org\/main\/note-from-the-principal\/","title":{"rendered":"Note From the Principal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span>This year, I had the opportunity to submit requests for prioritized items needed for our school. \u00c2\u00a0These were major projects or items not included in our normal ASD budget. \u00c2\u00a0I submitted four items. \u00c2\u00a0Senator Hollis French\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and Representative Mike Doogan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Offices worked on our behalf to get these items included in the state budget. \u00c2\u00a0Thank you to Senator French and Representative Doogan for including Steller in the budget recommendations.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span>The items for Steller include upgrades to the library for books and shelving as well as upgrades to the electrical system to allow for more computers in the library. Also included was the request for an additional computer lab and the electrical upgrades needed to support that lab.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span>As you may know, Governor Palin will be reviewing the 378 projects worth nearly $663 million allocated to Anchorage and determining which will remain. \u00c2\u00a0Governor Palin has said there will be cuts.
