Congratulations Jessie!

Jessie 2016 MS Solo-Ensemble Fest - 1A Steller band student, Jessie H, entered the Middle School Solo/Ensemble Festival last Friday.  She is an 8th grade flautist, and her selection for the festival was “March” by Robert Schumann.  She received the superior rating.  “This is Jessie’s first opportunity to play a solo for adjudication, ” said Mr. Toba, the band director.  “She managed the pressure and played well.  I am so proud of her accomplishment.”  Jessie would like to thank Gwen Colliander and Megan Webb for being the piano accompanist.

The UA Financial Aid deadline is coming up quickly!

February 15th is the Scholarship Application deadline for all UA schools – Current and future (Fall ‘16) UA students who want to be considered for UA scholarships must have the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completed, and the UA scholarship application submitted before the end of day on Monday, February 15th.

To help our students meet this deadline, the ACPE Success Center (located on the 2nd floor in the Dimond Mall) will be open from 9am-5pm on Monday, February 15th (Presidents Day). College and Career Specialists will be on hand to help students and families complete the FAFSA, and are available for students wanting assistance with the UA Scholarship Application. Appointments are encouraged, but not required.

Students attending this College Goal Alaska event at the ACPE Success Center, can take a survey to be entered into a drawing for a $700 scholarship. Limited computers will be available to complete these online applications. Wi-fi internet is available for anyone wanting to bring their own laptop or tablet. To help with the FAFSA application, students and families are encouraged to bring 2015 tax information.

Please help us spread the word about this important deadline, and the help that is available!

For additional information or to make an appointment, please call the ACPE Success Center at 907-269-7980
