Adopt the Steller Peace Garden for a Week this Summer!
The garden club and community service intensive will be planting the Peace Garden this week, but we need help caring for it over the summer. We are looking for students and families to adopt the garden for a week at a time. Please pick a week to visit the garden at least twice to water and do some light weeding, if necessary. You don’t need to have a green thumb to volunteer! To see which weeks are available, click on the Steller Peace Garden calendar on my website:Â https://sites.google.com/site/
Email me the week(s) you would like to volunteer and I’ll add your name to that Monday. I’ll also send you the combination to the shed so that you can access the water key.
Thanks,
Danielle
Last chance to get your stuff back!

Activity Day Rescheduled at Steller
Activity Day, Friday May 17th, will be held right here at Steller Secondaryand not at Lynary Park. We, as a staff, feel it will be better to have shelter and warmth nearby in case of inclement weather. Please have your students still dress for the weather, as the majority of activities will still be outdoors, and the picnic will be grilled food.
Students who have permission to go on a bike ride may still bring their bikes, and if weather permits, will be allowed to go for a ride with staff members.
Thank you,
Dale

Steller’s Artistic Accomplishments, including an Intensive update
Hi,
As we wind down the year, I’d like to share some final project photos from the end of the spring semester, as well as the Intensive project.
First, here are some projects from Visual Art class. Students made “self portraits” mostly out of trash that they themselves threw away, along with their own cast face or hand impression. Â They began to see that what they throw away can have another life as art.
Also, in the Botany & Art Intensive Class, students observed, nurtured and created plants. Â Here are a few photos of the process.
The tall colorful poles will eventually find their way into the Steller Peace Garden. Stay tuned…..
Three cheers for the kids,
Chris
