Plant Sale Update

Come celebrate the end of the school year and support a worthy cause! Mark your calendar on Friday, May 17 from 6-8pm for “Night For the Birds,” the Costa Rican macaw/garden club fundraiser! We will be selling vegetable, herb, and flower starts for your summer garden. Danielleʼs gardening intensive planted the seeds for these plants. If you have not already heard about this fundraiser, it is to raise money for the ARA Project, a volunteer-based conservation organization in Costa Rica dedicated to bringing endangered scarlet and green macaws back from the brink of extinction. The project is being forced to relocate, but needs money desperately to rebuild on a new site. Bring a dish to share for a potluck dinner. We will provide Costa Rican gallos pinto (beans and rice). We also now have a band! Three Sets of Sandals, a talented trio of bluegrass/folk musicians from Polaris, will be performing on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo.

Yes, August seems a long way away right now, but parent group wants to give you a heads up.   We are looking ahead to registration in August, on the 6^th and 7^th .  We will need parent and student volunteers  to help welcome new and returning students,  take yearbook orders, sign families up for the directory and sell Steller merchandise.   It’s a chance to talk to new students and parents and offer your experience as a Steller parent or student-to give them the real scoop.

Please mark your calendars. The Steller Garden Club is having a plant sale on May 17th. It will be from 6:30- 8pm. Steller students have started growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers for your summer gardens.

Proceeds from our plant sale will go to help The Ara Project. It is a conservation program in Costa Rica is working to breed and reintroduce Scarlet and Great Green Macaws back into the rainforest where they have become severely endangered.

Tables are up in the hallway with this year’s lost and found items.  Please stop by to see if any of the items belong to you/your students.  We will take these tables down on Friday, May 3rd and then set up again during the last week of school, Monday-Friday, May 14-18th and check for any lost items.  ALL items left after 2:00pm on Friday, May 18th will be bagged up and donated; this includes any items left in lockers.
