Kids Summer Music Camp
Hello Everyone,
Please take a look at what the Alaska Orff Chapter has to offer in the way of summer programs for children and adults.
At the end of June, we will have our Children’s Music Camp, led by nationally acclaimed clinicians Karen Medley, Kay Lehto and our own Miriam Delap (This camp is one of the longest running children’s Orff camps in the nation, by the way!!). Â We are also offering a workshop, Creative Music for Children: Â Using Music to Make Academics Come Alive, taught by Karen and Kay. Â This workshop is for both music specialists AND Classroom Teachers!! Finally, so the adults are not left out of camp fun, we are introducing an adult music camp led by Karen and Kay. Â Credit through UAA is available for both the workshop and the adult camp.

Hello, Steller rocks!
My name is Coal and I live at RockeSteller Plaza with all my rock friends. I am writing this article to inform you of some terrible news. Many rocks from RockeSteller Plaza have been kidnapped!!!  Students from the Community Art Intensive have scattered them around Anchorage.  They need help and you can help them. Look around town for rocks that look like me, but have the GPS coordinates of our home written on the back. Please keep a look out for my friends and help them return to RockeSteller Plaza (aka our flagpole). Thank you Stellerites! I hope to see them all soon!
Reminder: Attention All Gardeners!
The Steller Ecological Society (aka the Steller GREENS garden club) is having a plant sale. It will be at Steller on May 19th from 10:00 to 2:00 (this is when conferences are held so come when youʼre done with your conference). We will be selling plants that the club has grown and the proceeds will go to buying more plants for the Peace Garden. Some plants that will be sold are: tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins and other vegetables, herbs, sunflowers, and other flowers, including geraniums. You can buy local, support Steller and grow your own food at the same time. Please note that all these plants have been grown organically with no pesticides or unnatural fertilizer.
For more information about the plant sale or the club, contact Maya Heubner or Amy Holonics at 562-3966.
