The Auction ” check in” station is in need of two PC laptop computers. They will be safely operated and handled by our parent volunteers. If you’re a PC and Windows 7 was your idea… don’t worry, we don’t need that current of a model. Ebooks will do the job, too. Contact poulsen_jean@asdk12.org for more information.

Ad Board meets the following week on Thursday, March 25 at 6pm in Ken’s room. Agenda items will include discussion of the results of the last month’s Community Forum regarding Advisory Groups; an update on the possiblity of offereing academic credit for student participation in Ad Board and Op Group; as well as a vote on the dispensation of the proceeds from next week’s Annual Auction. Any additional agenda items should be forwarded to board co-chairs, Elizabeth Grover or Lorryn Wilhelm.
Parent Group meets tomorrow evening, Thursday, March 18 at 7pm in Ken’s room. As we have little regular business on the agenda, the primary focus will be ironing out details for the annual Steller Auction next Friday.  The 9th grade class has been working since January, but still needs parent volunteers. If you have already volunteered to help with the auction, or were intending to help, but just haven’t figured out how, please plan to attend this organizational meeting.
Again this year I am in need of host families for foreign exchange students. I currently have profiles for girls from Moldova and Saudi Arabia and a boy from Tajikistan with more to come in the next few weeks. Please consider whether you or someone you know would be willing to open your home to one of these student ambassadors for the 2010-11 school year. It is a great way to promote international understanding, not to mention improving your knowledge of geography. (Can you find Moldova on the map?)

Stella’s Closet, a new addition to the Steller Auction is now accepting “consignment grade” clothing and accessories! Stella will be doing business in the Library during the Auction.
We are looking for a few people with pottery making skills to help create fantastic pieces to sell at the auction. I will be opening the art room on Saturday, March 20 from 9am to 6pm for a pottery invitational. Please contact me at poulsen_jean@asdk12.org if you would like to help. This is not a class. You must already have experience in order to participate.
