Annual Thespian Conference
March 25-27 is the 2nd Annual Thespian Conference.
This is an excellent opportunity for High School and Middle School students to work with theatre professionals on honing their skills and getting answers to questions like, “How do I audition for college?”
Designed to address the needs of students with a passion for performance. Â Students will receive 7 Master Classes, Tickets to 3 shows and take part in our panel discussion as well as getting the chance to socialize with their peers from other schools. Â This is the only non-competitive theatre event in town where students from different schools can meet and trade their ideas and experiences in theatre.

Project HOPE is pleased to announce that Mr. Juan Alexander, Director of Admissions, Wilberforce University, has arrived in Anchorage. Currently there are four former ASD students attending Wilberforce University and the university does have Alaska Native and Native American students in attendance. He will be here March 15 – 19, 2010 to talk with ALL high school Juniors and Seniors and current college students looking to transfer, about attending Wilberforce University. Mr. Alexander will be in the CLARK MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY Â TODAY, Monday, March 15 from 5 pm to 7 pm giving a presentation about Wilberforce University, meeting and speaking with parents/students and taking applications from and admitting students of ASD or transfers.
During his time in Alaska ALL APPLICATION FEES WILL BE WAIVED AND SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED.
The grade point average (GPA) requirement for Wilberforce University is 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and the ACT and/or SAT with no specific score. ALL SCHOLARSHIPS are based on GPA ONLY! The minimum GPA to be eligible for a scholarship is 3.2 on a 4.0 scale! Those looking to transfer need to have a minimum of 30 semester hours or will be required to meet the high school requirements for admissions.
In order to take advantage of this opportunity, a student will need to have the following items available when he arrives:
Official High School/College Transcript(s)
Copy of ACT and/or SAT Scores
Copy of Scholarship Portfolio (if available)

The theme of the Auction is “Steller by Starlight”.  Students will be providing on-stage entertainment during the evening. Auditions are taking place. Please check the Auction white board for days and times.
