Earth Day 2009

Earth Day: The Teach-In is coming to Steller!
April 22, Wednesday

We would like to invite parents to volunteer to serve as co-facilitators during the three presentational sessions. These sessions are as follows:
9:25- 10:15 session 1
10:20- 11:10 session 2
12:10- 1:00 session 3

Facilitators will work with student facilitators to introduce the speaker, monitor the time, facilitate the question & answer session and make sure that the session ends on time.

Please forward your name and contact information to Nina (Bonito-Romine_Nina@asdk12.org) if you are interested in helping out on Earth Day. It’s a fun way to get in those 10 volunteer hours we ask of each family every year:)

Senior Breakfast

All seniors and their families are invited to the Annual Senior Breakfast, Thursday, April 23rd from 7:30-8:30 am in the Steller MPR.  This event is sponsored by the sophomore class of 2011.  Sophomore parents will be contacted to help provide food.

Activity Night

Activity Night is Friday, April 17. Students MUST have their permission slips turned into the office by Wednesday, April 15! No permission slip, no Activity Night. Parents are encouraged to volunteer to chaperone the dance, host a room, work on snack duty or sit/walk door patrol…. this activity that we all love is NOT POSSIBLE without the help of our wonderful parent volunteers. There is a NO TOLERANCE rule in place, please be aware that if any drugs or alcohol are consumed or found during the campus activities or on school premises then the entire Activity Night may be shut down. Also, please be respectful of other people’s items and things while at Activity Night, we have not had any problems in the past and we do not wish to start now. Remember, no permission slip, no Activity Night! The Senior Class hopes to see you all there!

Click here to download the permission form.

Remember Barnes & Noble Fundraiser

Remember the UK students’ big fundraiser at Barnes and Nobles this Saturday April 4th from 11-6. There will be all kinds of events, face painting (we still need a few good face painters, we have simple designs to follow), crafts, Easter and spring gift wrapping, musicians and storytellers( we need a few more of them too!) Please share the vouchers. Tell everyone you know to come on out and say they support Steller from 9am to 11pm that day. The more people who mention us at checkout, the higher a percentage our school will get. If you have any questions, or you would like to help us out, please call Cindy at 227-1620 or email cjames@ak.net.
