CALLING ALL ARTISTS: We have a great need for help in 3 areas for our
fundraiser.  We need FACE PAINTERS, MUSICIANS and BOOK READERS for the
younger kids

Please, if you can help, contact Jamie Ebelacker or email Leslie at leslie@pobox.alaska.net or  Cindy at cjames@ak.net as soon as possible. We need enough people for 3 shifts, 11-2, 2-4 or 4-6. Thanks for your help and support.

Calling all old cell phones and old ink jet cartridges!

Don’t throw them out – have your student bring them to Shannon’s room.  Collect them at work and home – put a tub out to help Steller raise money for students.  The Galapagos Intensive is beginning an effort to collect and recycle your old cell phones and ink jet cartridges.  Not much effort from you but could be a big help to us!  Lets help keep these products out of the landfill!

Cheers Shannon

Pennies For Patients Fundraiser

This year, Steller Secondary has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program to raise money to fund research in finding cures and therapies as well as provide information and support to those with leukemia and lyphomas.

We have until 4/3/2009 to collect as much spare change and financial donations as we can for this cause.

Please help our students save lives with the power of a penny! Along with spare change, you can send checks in with your student made payable to: LLS, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Pennies for Patients. You can also make a donation online in the name of your student and Advisory Group at www.schoolandyouth.org/wa/donate NOTE: leave both name fields blank and press enter. You will then be able to search a list of schools for Steller and make your tax deductible donation. Steller students are also selling Pennies for Patient Logos at lunch (see photo below).

Every penny counts! If we are able to raise at least $500, the top fundraising Advisory Group will win a pizza party!

If you are ever in need of resources to help someone with a blood cancer, please contact your school nurse or LLS. We would be honored to help. For more information regarding LLS, please visit www.schoolandyouth.org/wa or contact Barb Wodzin at barb.wodzin@LLS.org or 888-345-4572, ext. 113.

If you have questions or concerns regarding Steller’s Pennies for Patients fundraiser please contact Wendy Williams, School Nurse @ 742-4963 or williams_wendy@asdk12.org.
