The goal of these revisions is to help all applicants, regardless of background or access to counseling, see themselves and their stories within the prompts. They are designed to invite unencumbered discussions of character and community, identity, and aspiration. To this end, we will be creating new educational resources to help students both understand and approach the opportunities the essay presents for them.

Hello parents and students of Steller! This is a message from the yearbook staff, urging you to buy a yearbook if you haven’t yet. You can either order them on the jostensyearbook.com website, or alternatively get a paper form in the Steller office. Yearbooks currently cost $65. Now is a good time to purchase a yearbook, as they are selling out fast.

We are looking for three more prom chaperones to make sure prom can take place.  Thanks to those parents who have already volunteered.  Prom will be at the Alaska Experience Theatre downtown on Saturday, April 8th.  We need two chaperones from 9-11pm and one chaperone from 10pm-midnight.  Please contact Ashley if you can help us out.  vanhemert_ashley@asdk12.org

Parent-drivers and parent-volunteers for hiking trips are needed for Alaska Wild Intensive.

Jason is still in the process of getting events scheduled for the spring Tourist intensive. Many activities have not started their summer schedules yet, so there has been a delay in finalizing things. However, the anticipated fees need to be paid. The original cost posted was $250, so that will be the fee required as of now. Please pay that as soon as possible to Haley in the office. Any changes will be announced as soon as they are known. It should be a great 2 weeks, and the plan is to try and do as many of the activities together as possible.
