Souper Steller Friday – Need Help
Ken’s Advisory chose Chicken Tortilla and Potato Soup for this Friday (Nov 4th) and they will be helping with this week’s Souper Steller.

- Help prepare soup and bread TODAY Thursday, 2-4 pm
- Help stir soup, bake rolls, set-up, serve and clean-up Friday 9am-12:45 pm (SPECIAL THANKS TO parents Michelle and Mariah for leading this Friday!)
- Help students remember water bottles and soup bowls please!

Allison’s school supply drive for girls in Uganda
This is a quick reminder that this week is the last week to donate to Allison’s school supply drive for girls in Uganda, Africa! The drive ends November 10th, and we need:
- pencils/pens
- paper
- notebooks
- binders
- art supplies (markers, crayons, scissors)
- calculators (both scientific and regular)
- old books or textbooks
- backpacks or shoulder bags
After November 10th, the advisory who has donated the most supplies will get a prize! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! Please ask Allison if you have any further questions. The donation box is in the office, and PLEASE write your name under your advisory name!

Current price is $60.00. Also, there is no custom personalization allowed by the publisher post December 31st deadline. If students wish to have a name/ special phrase on a cover, icons, or autograph section they must purchase the book this semester.
Tatumn Willis, Bret Congdon and Ned Murphy are headed to Juneau for the state swim meet
Steller Students Tatumn Willis and Ned Murphy, who swim for Dimond High School, and Bret Congdon, who swims for West High School, are heading to Juneau for the high school state swim meet. They will each compete in several events. Congratulations to these talented Steller athletes and good luck at State!
Bret Congdon a junior at Steller who swims for the West High Eagles will be competing in Juneau in 2 events and in one relay team event. Her relay team set a new West High record for the 200 medley relay at the Conference Championships last weekend.

Re: Steller Webpage Updates: Need Volunteers
Dear Parents,
Wouldn’t you like to see an awesome updated Steller webpage? I know I would.
The Parent Group has formed a committee to address the updates on Steller’s Website. We are looking for volunteers who can commit for a full school year. Each person would be responsible for updating a small section of the website. By doing this, the task will be less burdensome then just a few individuals driving the whole webpage. Once we have some names, I will setup a meeting so that we can discuss the details and task at hand. My guess is that if we get enough parents involved, each person would only have to spend a few hours quarterly to make updates.
We need your help. It’s is students and parents involvement that makes Seller the wonderful community that it is. If you are interested, please contact Dana Dardis at ddardis@gmail.com
Free essay writing workshop for college and scholarship applications
The Anchorage Museum and Story Works Alaska are offering a free essay writing workshop: IDENTITY AND THE ADMISSION ESSAY. This two-part workshop is designed for current high school students working on personal statements for college and scholarship applications.
When: Nov. 5th and Nov. 19th (1-3pm both days; attendance required on both days)

Join us for a haunted afternoon of games, trick or treating and a guided tour of Anchorage’s oldest haunted theatre. A great family event of spooky fun for young Boos and Ghouls! This Saturday, October 29th , 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Admission is free for K-6 Graders! Donations gladly accepted.
Studying Theatre and Getting Excited! (S.T.A.G.E.)
A workshop for children grades K-6th
For over 20 years, West High students have been teaching grade school students the basics of theatre. Youngsters work with high school veterans in a series of mini-workshops on Musical Theatre, Acting, Makeup, Dance and other topics of the theatre. 6 Mini-Workshops in all! A great opportunity to learn a variety of theatrical techniques all in one day.  Saturday November 5th 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. $40.00 per student with discounts for multiple students.
