2 more days until auction!

spectrum-auctionHi Steller Families, there are only a few more days until the big auction!  A great big Thank You to everyone who has donated auction items, and to the many volunteers who have been working behind the scenes in preparation for the big event.

Volunteers are always welcome!  Anyone who would like to volunteer for set up can stop in to Steller between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, and anyone who would like to volunteer to help with the auction itself can come in at 5:30 p.m.  Many hands make light work, and anyone wishing to stay to help tidy up will get the Junior Class’ eternal gratitude.

Doors open to the public at 6:00 p.m.

Bidding starts at 6:30 p.m.

$5 per person / $10 per family

It will be an exciting and fun time!  See you there!!!

Special Super Steller Friday

Souper Steller this week is on and will be special! We’re inviting the 6th grade class from North Star to come have lunch with us. We will also encourage them to invite their families to the Ice Cream Social next week. This is a fun recruitment activity!

With 60 additional students we need ALL HANDS ON DECK!! If you can make it in for an hour to help, please do!

  • Thursday Prep- 2-4pm

  • Friday cook, setup, serve 9am-12:45pm

Come any hour! Jean’s advisory will be hosting and chose:

  • Chicken tortilla

  • Potato Pumpkin/Squash Soup

Don’t forget to save a tree and bring a bowl! If you cannot help but would like to donate, come to the auction and support all the good things that Steller Parent Group supports or leave a check at the front desk for Steller Parent Group, write Souper Steller in the memo line on check.

Community Conversation About Bullying

Join Superintendent Ed Graff and other educators for a community conversation and information night about bullying. This meeting will share tips on how to have conversations at home, at school and in the community to prevent bullying and harassment, and how to build social and emotional skills.

The event is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 at the ASD Education Center.

College Fairs Online

college fairs onlineFree Virtual College Fair for Students for the Western United States January 25th-30th.  Students can log on any time during this week and get information from many colleges. There is a question and answer section for the students to get answers directly from college reps. Go to  http://collegefairsonline.com  to the students tab to register ASAP. This service is completely free.

STAMP assessment for Spanish students

This year all world language students will be assessed using the STAMP assessment to determine their language level based on national proficiency levels. This is a great opportunity to see how well students can use the language they are learning. Please read the attached letter from the director or World Languages, Brandon Locke, to learn more. Skating Rink Now Open

IMG_5375Northstar skating rink that was funded by Steller community is now open and its conditions are great! Third hour PI class is planning to spend many hours there. Steller skating club already had their very first practice. Our skaters find that the thrill of moving around so gracefully is like nothing else they have ever experienced!

Thank you everybody who supported the idea and helped that to happened.
