Picture Day is this Friday September 4th.  Order forms will be given out in your 6th period classes.  If you have Community Service at Northstar or do not have a 6th period class, stop by the office and pick up a form.  Retakes are scheduled for Friday October 2.

The $15 fee for all Steller Art classes is due this week.  Please remit payment either online in Zangle or to the Front Office.

Steller is hosting five students from Toksook Bay, Alaska from September 27th to October 4th. This is part of the Sister School Exchange through the Alaska Humanities Forum. Last spring five of our students visited Toksook and now it is students from their school turn to stay with us. We are in need of one more host family to host a senior high school girl. If your family is interested in hosting, please contact Leigh Anne at bonney_leigh@asdk12.org. Host families are expected to provide transportation to school and some group events. They are encouraged to participate in group activities. There is a stipend provided to help offset the cost of food and activities. Families do need to go through a criminal background check in order to host. Please consider hosting, it is a great opportunity for your family and student to learn about life in a small village in Alaska.

Heads up, artists of Steller! Yearbook is hosting an awesome new design contest, where your artwork can be used as the cover of this school year’s yearbook. If you are a Steller student with a talent for art, take part in this great opportunity. Voting will be done by the yearbook staff, and if your cover is chosen you will receive a FREE copy of next year’s finished yearbook, complete with your winning cover art.  If you are serious about creating original artwork for all of the Steller community to see, please contact Svetlana about further details.
