The sign up for the December travel intensive to Thailand is June 1st. Students will be admitted on a first come first served basis for registration. There are a few spots left!! The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, May 19th, at 5:30 p.m. for the general public to learn more about the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS).

Students, parents, educators, and other interested parties are welcome. Participants will learn about eligibility requirements, award levels, the application process, and using the award. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions. Go to APS.alaska.gov to register.

Once you have registered online, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to participate in the meeting. Internet and telephone access are required.

Isabella L, a band student from Steller, entered the state solo/ensemble festival last Friday at UAA. She received superior rating from the judge. She was even recommended for the command performance, which is given to the participant who demonstrates the highest possible performance during the solo/ensemble festival. “What an accomplishment!” said Mr. Toba, the band teacher. “We are so lucky to have Bella in band at Steller. She has been a role model and mentor to our younger students.”
