Juntos Como Uno – Together as One: Puerto Rico Fundraiser
There will be a fundraiser on Friday, October 13th from 5:30-8pm at Romig Middle School for students in Puerto Rico who were affected by the hurricanes. The event is being hosted by Romig and West Spanish immersion students who have a sister school in Puerto Rico called Colegio San Rafael de Arcangel in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. Proceeds from the fundraiser will assist the school to reopen and assist families in need. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring food to share. There will be entertainment by students. A-J bring a main dish, K-Z bring a side or dessert. Please contact Ashley with any questions: vanhemert_ashley@asdk12.org
Conferences Week of October 23rd
Hello Steller Parents/Guardians! It’s that time of year again.
Fall Conferences will take place on October 25, 26, and 27. These will be student-led conferences that include the student, parent/guardian(s), and the advisor, but will be led by your child. Our goal is to have 100% attendance so all Steller students have the opportunity to show off their strengths and talk about areas they need to improve. Conferences can be scheduled a number of ways, the best of which is with the district’s online scheduler. Do so by following the steps below:
-
Go to http://www.asdk12.org/ConferenceScheduling/StudentScheduleStartExt.aspx This is can be reached by going to the district web page, clicking on Parent conferences on the left, and then on the Middle School conference scheduler;
-
Choose Steller as the school;
-
Choose 7th grade! (In order to work the system, all conferences are scheduled as 7th graders. It is the square peg into a round hole thing);
-
For Team Name, choose your student’s ADVISOR (Conferences will be with the advisor, if you want to meet with classroom teachers, you will need to schedule a meeting outside of the conference dates. Your student’s advisor will have forms to request meetings);
-
Choose the date you wish to come in; and
-
Choose your time and continue through the process. You can sign up to receive a reminder email. If you need to cancel your appointment time, you will have to email your advisor.
