It is just a heads up on upcoming travel opportunities. Svetlana and Troy are planning a trip to Whistler, BC Canada for skiing intensives December 2012. Please, contact them if you have any questions or wish to start planning your child’s travel arrangements. Our intentions are to start planning as early as we can to keep the costs low.

We are looking for chaperons for our December dance (12/09). We need 4 for each shift. First shift is 6:45 pm – 9 pm. Second shift is 8:45 pm – 11 pm.

Our December Dance is next Friday December 9th, 7:00 – 11:00.
The theme is Gender/Bender, $4.00 if dressed in attire, $5.00 if not.
The Guest book is in the office for students to sign up guests.
Guest Sign up ends Tuesday, Dec. 6th at 12:00pm NO EXCEPTIONS!
Please remember the following rules:
Only guests from ASD area allowed.
Only TWO guests per Steller student.
Guests MUST have a picture ID!
Guests MUST be 7th grade through 12th grade only.
NEW RULE: GUESTS MUST WAIT AND ENTER THE DANCE WITH THEIR
STELLER SPONSOR.
On Wednesday, November 23rd (the day before Thanksgiving), the building will close and the doors will be locked at 3 p.m. Students must be picked up BEFORE 3 p.m.
Please be considerate of the teachers and staff who want to prepare for their holiday, too!
There is no school Thursday or Friday, November 24 – 25.
There will not be any After School Activities (Drama, Chess Club, etc.) on Wednesday, November 23rd.

Free event is for parents of elementary and middle school students
ASD’s Title I Department will host a Parent University: Math Night event at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at Wendler Middle School. The event is open to all parents of ASD elementary and middle school students.
Math Night will be divided into a series of breakout sessions. Topics include:
·        Hands-on math games
·        Online math games
·        Vocabulary
·        Addition and subtraction
·        Multiplication and division
Parents may choose to attend two to three 20-minute sessions. All sessions will be led by ASD Math Teacher Experts Shelly Eldred, Karen Iris, Dana Stahl, Seth Marie Westfall and Penny Williams.
This Parent University session is free and no registration is necessary to attend the event.
Our November Dance is coming up soon. The date is Friday, November 18th, 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The theme is “Alice in Wonderland”. Tickets are $4.00 if you dress like a character from the movie (or if your outfit is clearly inspired by the movie) and $5.00 if not. The Guest Sign up book is on the counter in the office for students to sign up their guests.  Guests from only the Anchorage School District area can be invited to the dance. Two guests per student. The guests must be in 7th grade thru 12th grade only. ALL students must have some form of picture identification. Please remember to sign up early because once the book is removed next Tuesday the 15th at 12:00 pm there will be NO EXCEPTIONS for additional sign ups.
The choir is giving a seasonal concert (Halloween) Tuesday October 25th 2:30 in the multi purpose room. All are invited. It is sure to be a little disturbing, and fun and beautiful.
