Sophomore Day Friday 4/16/10

Each year, Steller conducts a health education program with a focus on HIV/AIDS, human sexuality, healthy relationships, and safety.  This program is presented to the sophomore class as a full-day workshop, which features RARE-T peer educators and community guest speakers.

All 10th grade students will receive a sophomore day permission slip on 4/8/10 to take home for parental review and signature.  Student’s who do not have a signed permission slip will attend regular classes for the day.  Attendance in either Sophomore Day or the regular class day is required for attendance in Activity Night.  Permission slips need to be returned to the office or Wendy Williams, Steller School Nurse by Wednesday, April 14th, 2010.

ASD buses will transport all students and will depart promptly at 8:45am and will return to Steller at 2:05pm.

If your student does not bring home a permission slip, please download it here.

Activity Night

Activity Night is coming up on Friday, April 16th.
The senior class is organizing a night of activities, contests and movies. Permission slips are available in the office and are due this Friday, April 9th.

Chaperones Needed!
We still need chaperones for the last two shifts of Activity Night: from 1:30 am – 5:00 am and from 4:30 am to 8 am.
If you can join us for one (or both) of these shifts, please email Danielle at Sjoden_Danielle@asdk12.org and indicate which shift(s) you can cover.

Thanks!!

Attention Senior Parents:

Graduation will be May 18th at the Performing Arts Center. The senior class had been meeting on Tuesdays at lunch to discuss graduation and to plan the upcoming Activity Night. Seniors should be working on their graduation slideshows, which are due to Ken on April 2nd. Each senior will have three minutes to speak and present a slideshow if they wish.
If you would like to order graduation announcements, please email Danielle by April 2nd with the number of announcements you would like. The cost will be no more than a dollar per announcement. We are working with a local printer who will give us a discount if more than 1000 total announcements are ordered.  Once we know how many we’re ordering, we will be able to give an exact price and will then collect money.
Thanks,
Ken, Danielle and Bob

Decoration Loaners needed for Auction

This lovely photo is the inspiration for our auction decor.   We are attempting to create an atmosphere in the gym something like the adjacent photo for auction night.

To aid in our endeavors, we are seeking strings of white icicle lights, and large potted plants—real or faux—like palms, and dracaenas. If you have lights to loan us–and wish them returned–please wrap them with a piece of tape and your name.  If just want to get rid of them, leave them unmarked.  Lights can be dropped off in Troy’s office.

We promise to take good care of your potted plants while they are visiting—they can be left in the Staff Lounge anytime Thursday or Friday morning. Make sure your name is on them somewhere.

Thank-you for your help,

Steller 9th Grade Class.
