Aida at East High School

East High is performing  Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA.

It is the first time it is being performed by an Alaska High school.

The dates are Feb. 19 , 20, 24, 25 & 26.  at East High’s Theater. Curtain at 7:00 pm.

Middle School Solos/Ensembles Festival

Here is the confirmed band trip schedule for the Middle School Solos/Ensembles Festival on Friday, February 19th.

8:30-9:20:  First hour regular band class in the relo
9:25-9:45:  Second hour.  Students should be released at 9:45
9:50:  Leave Steller
10:00:  Arrive at the Central Lutheran Church (15th & Cordova); check in
10:05-10:30:  Warm up
10:36:  Performance in the Room 2
10:50:  Leave the church
11:00:  Arrive at Steller; students will go to their classes.

VALENTINE’S GIFT WRAPPING PROJECT

AT THE MALL AT SEARS ON SATURDAY

The SHANLEY/TONI ADVISORY GROUP will be doing a FUNDRAISER on Saturday, February 13th from 11:00 A.M.- 5:00 P.M. at The Mall at Sears.

We will be doing Valentine Gift Wrapping for donations to help pay for a Smile Train Cleft Palate Surgery for a disadvantaged child.

We did gift wrapping in December at another location and earned $65, so we need to continue with our fundraising to pay for a $250 surgery.

Although the Sears Mall will be providing a table and chairs, we NEED DONATIONS OF VALENTINE GIFT WRAP, RIBBON, & TAPE. We could also use Valentine’s cards, cupcakes, cakes, cookies, candy—-ANYTHING TO DO WITH VALENTINE’S DAY that we can sell to raise more money.

Please support us by coming to the Sears Mall on Saturday.  We need students and parents to help with set-up, clean-up, and gift wrapping. Your help will really be appreciated!

Just a Reminder

The Steller Auction is Friday, March 26th…

We are in need of items for the auction! We are asking each Steller family to donate one item and find a local business willing to donate one item.  Auction proceeds will help provide laptops for our classrooms.  Please start bringing your items to the office March 1st. There will be a designated area for you to leave them along with Auction Donation forms to indicate value and donor names. We will make sure to give recognition to all donors.

Military Families Fair

The Annual Military Families Fair is Saturday, February 13 at Begich Middle School on DeBarr at Muldoon.  They have asked for teen volunteers to help staff a booth where kids will be producing a scrapbook page “Day in My Life” to send to their parent serving overseas.  The idea was from Steller and the YMCA sponsor adopted it!  Now they need help from us.

If your child can volunteer (you are welcome too!) please contact Nina asap. Duty hours are from 12noon to 4:00pm or any portion thereof.
