We will be having a mandatory meeting on November 29 at 7:00 pm for all students and their parents participating in the Florida trip. Svetlana and Mike will answer any questions concerning the trip, what to wear, what to bring (and what not to wear/bring) as well as reviewing all of our arrangements. Donations Needed! Our plastic spoons and forks inventory has dwindled to almost nothing! We are in need of your help and donations to ensure our students have eating utensils for lunch. Thank you so much for your generosity. Donations can be delivered to the front office.

Please note that it is cheaper to purchase the Yearbook during this quarter. Current price is $60.00. Also, there is no custom personalization allowed by the publisher post December 31st deadline. If students wish to have a name/special phrase on a cover, icons, or autograph section they must purchase the book this semester. Senior pictures and portraits are due December 22nd. The days are getting shorter and we would like to remind drivers:

• the main entrance is for drop off and pick up only;

• please do not leave your vehicle;

• in the mornings please use our parking lot at the end of the school for lengthy phone or student conversations;

• remember students will be walking across the drop-off lanes and are often hard to see; and

• if you are in the lane for more than a moment please shut you car off, our building air intake is on this side of the building.

Last chance at Steller for student’s flu vaccination, we will have our student flu clinic on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the morning prior to lunch. Thank you to those who have already turned in their student’s flu consent to the nurse at the beginning of the year.
If you have not already had your child vaccinated and wish to have them vaccinated with the seasonal flu this year, attached is the consent form. Consent MUST be turned in to the nurse for proper verification no later than 11/15/16. I need exact pupil count prior to picking up vaccine the morning of, which will need careful count monitoring and safe storage.

VACCINE INFORMATION STATEMENT

Attention youth ages 6 and over!  The US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the Alaska Zoo and Audubon Alaska are pleased to announce their seventh annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids, Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at the Alaska Zoo!  Get your kids registered now for the opportunity to become “citizen scientists” during this celebrated annual tradition!  Kids will explore the outdoors with experienced birders to practice their observational skills and to discover how local birds tough out the Alaska winter.  This program is for ages 6 and above and will begin at 9am in the Gateway Hall at the Alaska Zoo, and end at 1pm.  There will be bird-related freebies, food and drinks for all, so don’t miss out on this great opportunity to get outside and have some unforgettable fun encouraging bird conservation.  Only a small number of birding spots are available so please contact Stephanie Hartman at slhartman@alaskazoo.org, or call (907) 341-6463 to make your reservations today!  Fee is only $3 per person.
