KCC will be hosting a hiring event April 6th with over 75 employers attending. See time slots HERE for Steller students to attend. All students must have a resume and cover letter ready to present to an interviewer. All students must dress professionally. If students are not prepared for the hiring event, they will not be allowed to participate. Transportation is not provided. Please let Reed know if you plan on attending.

  Bartlett Theatre Group is happy to present Mary Chase’s Pulitzer-Prize winning play Harvey. Perhaps you remember watching this hilarious Jimmy Stewart movie, in which he plays the part of Elwood Dowd, a good-natured, mild-mannered eccentric who is known in all of the taverns in his small town. Elwood is polite and cheerful and always friendly toward any strangers he might encounter, and he has just one problematic character trait: his best friend is an invisible six-foot-tall rabbit, Harvey. His sister and her daughter try to have Elwood committed to the local sanitarium, where the behavior of the prominent psychologist and his staff raise the age-old question of who is more dangerous to society: the easy-going dreamer with a vivid imagination or the people who want him to conform to the accepted version of reality.

The free showing of Harvey will be Friday, April 8th at 11:30 am. The play is 90 min. Students should eat lunch prior to arrival. There will be evening performances on April 7th-9th at 7:00 pm, which will be open to the entire community. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students.

 3.  is on track to graduate in May 2016.

There is a place on the application for a counselor’s signature. Once signed by counselor, or front office staff or administrator, you will have given verification of all 3 criteria above.

The senior class still needs parent volunteers for Activity Night Friday, April 1st. We need one more chaperone for the 9:45pm to 2:00am shift and six more chaperones for the 1:45am to 6am shift. A nationwide voluntary recall has been issued for Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna with the following UPC codes/”Best By” Dates. No illnesses have currently been reported. The specific product may have been under processed, which could cause the cans not to be sterilized. This increases the likelihood if food is contaminated by spoilage organisms or pathogens, and that the tuna could cause illness if consumed.

A nationwide voluntary recall has been issued for Chicken of the Sea Chunk Light Tuna with the following UPC codes/”Best By” Dates. This recall has been initiated because the product may have been undercooked due to an equipment malfunction, which could result in contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens that could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed. There have been no reported illnesses to date connected with the affected products.

Anchorage Youth Court (AYC) has a new member class starting Saturday, April 2. This is a great volunteer opportunity for students in the Municipality of Anchorage in grades 7 – 12 between the ages of 12-18.

Youth interested in AYC must take the class before they begin volunteering. In this class students will learn about the court system and how to prepare to handle AYC court cases. After they take the class and become a new member, they can volunteer their time in trainings, adjudicating cases for their peers, and other volunteer opportunities throughout the community.

The class begins on Saturday, April 2 at West High School. The class meets for three consecutive Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm and then meets on April 23 for the bar exam from 12 – 1pm.
