Important Info About Intensives

There is a credit correction for the Peer Taught course, MYTHOLOGY AS A ROLEPLAYING GAME.  Please make note that the course will not be given an American Literature / English Elective.  All Peer Taught classes are “Elective” Credits.

The Intensive Fee due date has past!  If you have yet to pay for your Intensive Fee, PLEASE do so and quickly as we are waiting for your payment.  If you have any concerns please contact the Intensive teacher in charge.

Municipal Youth Advisory Commission

Hello Friends and collaborative partners,

Thanks to the vision of Mayor Berkowitz and the unanimous support of the Assembly the Youth Advisory Commission is back!

We are excited to work with our community partners to support the commission and are thrilled to announce that the online application is now live and available through the Boards and Commissions page under the Mayor’s corner.

Join Model United Nations Meeting, Nov 25, noon, Ken’s room

united nationsYou do not have to wait another year! Model United Nations (Model UN) is looking for representatives to form a third country.

If you are interested in joining, come to the model UN meeting, this Wednesday (November 25th) in Ken’s room at 12 noon.  He is running Model UN  for Steller.

Oversea Troop Care Packages

It’s that time of year! In the spirit of the holiday season, Steller Secondary has decided to participate in a care package drive to send to troops overseas in Afghanistan. The start date of the drive is Monday November 16th. Please take any donations to Becky’s room. The last day to donate will be Friday December 4th.

Here is a list of items that will be greatly appreciated:

Food

  • Sauce Packets (Ketchup, Mustard, Hot Sauce, Barbecue)

  • Drink Mixes (Crystal Light)

  • Jerky

  • Sunflower seeds

  • Cookies (homemade or bought)

  • Hard Candy (NO CHOCOLATE)

  • Dried Fruit

  • Canned Fruit

  • Canned nuts

2nd Semester Scheduling Day December 4

Friday, December 4th, is Steller’s 2nd Semester Scheduling Day! Students are to be in attendance during their designated time only. Students will meet with their Advisors the first hour. During the second hour, students will sign up for classes with each course teacher.

8:00 – 10:00 am — 8th and 12th grades

10:00 am – 12:00 pm —7th and 11th grades

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm — 9th and 10th grades

Parents and guardians, please make arrangements to drop off and pick up your children according to their scheduling time.

Fiber Art class help or loan/donate

Art (Jean) is offering a Fiber Art class 1st period, 2nd Semester and is looking for parents/friends to help or loan/donate:

  • Simple sewing machines
  • Yarn and knitting needles
  • Small looms
  • Quilt fabric scraps
  • Muslin or burlap fabric
  • Wax/batik supplies
  • Old crock pots / electric frying pans
  • Needles/thread/embroidery thread
  • Plywood scraps – pre-cut squares
  • Old wool sweaters -” give aways “
  • Felting wool
  • Talent and time for helping in class!!
