A wonderful semester has come to an end! I have enjoyed being a part of Steller and getting to know the community.  Visiting classrooms, and Passages presentations were the highlight of my year so far.  We have a awesome Steller team and delightful students; a principal could not ask for more. I hope you all have a restful and playful break.  Enjoy your families, for some, travels, and friends.

Blood Drive Cancellation Notice:

Unfortunately, there has not been enough interest in the Blood Drive that was planned on January 9^th, 2015. As a result, it has been cancelled. If you are still willing to donate blood, feel free to contact the Blood Bank of Alaska at 222-5630 or visit http://www.bloodbankofalaska.org/hours-locations.html to learn about future drives. Thank you to all those who did sign up!

The principal from Northstar will be honoring the Northstar volunteers tomorrow, December 18th, with a luncheon here at Steller. Please join him for lunch at 11:45.

Wednesday is the last day to turn in your senior page, portrait, and $30 for your class of 2015 sweatshirt. Checks for your sweatshirt should be made out to Steller Secondary and turned into the office. Portraits and pages go to Svetlana.

Parents, community members, students and staff are given the opportunity to provide information about teacher and administrator performance. If you would like to provide feedback, please complete an evaluation input form for a teacher<http://www.asdk12.org/depts/hr/eval/teacher.asp> or administrator<http://www.asdk12.org/depts/hr/eval/administrator.asp>. Forms are available online through the district’s parent portal<http://www.asdk12.org/parents/> under the feedback and questions heading. Paper copies are also available at your child’s school.

The evaluation forms are kept confidential and shared with the employee’s immediate supervisor. Evaluation forms are available until May 5.

Please note that it is cheaper to purchase the Yearbook during this quarter. Current price is $60. Also, there is no custom personalization allowed by the publisher post December 31st deadline. If students wish to have a name/ special phrase on a cover, icons, or autograph section they must purchase the book this semester. We also need outside-of-school activities pictures. Senior portraits and pages due December 17th.
