Alaska Engineering Education Foundation (AEEF) Scholarships

Through AEEF, the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers (ASPE) funds scholarships for high school seniors who wish to pursue a degree in engineering. Scholarships are awarded state-wide and at the local level in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau and are funded by the local engineering communities.

  • One $2,000 AEEF Scholarship from all state-wide applicants, awarded as $1,000 for two years.
  • One $1,500 ASPE Scholarship from all state-wide applicants.
  • One or more ASPE Regional Engineering Week (E-Week) scholarships that vary in quantity and

amount based on fundraising efforts in each of the three state regions: Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks. New this year, Anchorage E-Week will be awarding scholarships in two separate regions based on graduating enrollment by school districts (See Attachment 1 and Attachment 3 for more information). At a minimum, one $500 scholarship will be awarded in each region.

AEEF scholarships are limited to high school seniors pursuing a degree in engineering. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc (ABET) accredited engineering program at the college or university they attended. Funds awarded will be sent directly to the college/university financial aid office. Should scholarship winners not attend an ABET accredited engineering program within three years of the award, the scholarship may be forfeited.
