Thank You to our 2023-2024 Board!

Thank you to our 2023-2024 board. This year we have several people who will not be returning, after having been part of the board for several years. We would like to especially thank Amy, Sarah and Claudia for their contributions to making Steller stellar, and wish them the best.

We are pleased that we have leadership returning in each of the positions, and new people joining us as well. Stay tuned for an announcement of our final board soon.

If you are interested in joining this dynamic group of people on Steller Parent Group we have many opportunities  as part of the board, committees, and as general help when needed! No experience is necessary, just a desire to work together and learn. You can complete this form, and we will reach out to you to find a good fit!

Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing old friends and new faces at the Annual Steller BBQ Tuesday, August 13 6:00 to 8:00pm. Keep your eye out for specific volunteer needs in early August.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

Steller Parent Group would like to offer our best wishes to our Senior Class and their friends and families.

This day marks a huge accomplishment for you and we hope you are very proud of yourselves. We wish each of you wonderful new adventures in whatever you choose to do, and remind you that you will always be part of the Steller family. Thank you for all that you have done to make Steller what it is.

SPG Year in Review!

It’s been a busy year for SPG!

We do so much more than raise and disperse funds (but that is also great!).

This year Steller Parent Group:

  • Hosted the Steller BBQ for 275 people.
  • Facilitated community participation in the decision to add 6th grade to our school and whether to join the Academies of Anchorage model for high schools by hosting online and in person events, sharing communication from the school and helping community members find answers to their many questions.
  • Facilitated finding volunteers to support OpGroup, prom and other student run events (30+ hours of volunteer time).
  • Ran 9 General Membership Meetings.
  • The Finance Committee met 8 times to discuss Requests for Funding.
  • Met monthly over more than a year to update our Bylaws.
  • Reviewed and updated our Policies and Procedures.
  • Created a Document Retention Policy.
  • Worked on plans for the 50th Anniversary Celebration in September.
  • Facilitated Staff Appreciation.

Thank you to our board members as well as members of the community who have generously given their time to help make Steller a stellar place to live and learn.
