Kudos to Bella!

Isabella L, a band student from Steller, entered the state solo/ensemble festival last Friday at UAA. She received superior rating from the judge. She was even recommended for the command performance, which is given to the participant who demonstrates the highest possible performance during the solo/ensemble festival. “What an accomplishment!” said Mr. Toba, the band teacher. “We are so lucky to have Bella in band at Steller. She has been a role model and mentor to our younger students.”

A Note From Nurse Annette

Hello parents,

If your child has medications kept in the nurse’s office, please stop by to pick them up before the end of the school year and no later than May 21, 2015. Any medication remaining after the last day of school will be destroyed per federal requirements. No medication will be stored over the summer.

If your child will be taking medication at school next year or will have medications kept in the nurse’s office for emergency use, asthma, OTC medication, long-term medication, etc. please ask me for the required forms or find them at http://asdk12.org/healthservices/forms They must be renewed or completed each school year by the student’s parent and healthcare provider.

Also, please make sure your child’s immunization documents are up-to-date for the new school year. There are some students who have a shot that will expire during the summer, please provide the new record to your school nurse by the first day of school. The district has a no shot, no school policy.

Wishing you all a healthy and safe summer.

Thank you,

Annette Johansen, M.Ed., RN, NCSN
