Alaska Student Leadership Training Offered For the 18th Year !

Student Registration Opens This Week For the 18th annual Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute held During Spring Break – March 9-13, 2015 – in  Anchorage.

  • Students in grades 8-12 from all schools in South Central Alaska are invited to participate.
  • No previous leadership experience or training is necessary.
  • This is an extraordinary opportunity to learn life long creative leadership skills through social and action learning with a diverse group of 30 teenagers.
  • The Institute is conducted 5 consecutive days, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., at the Anchorage Corps Community Center.
  • Registration ends February 28. Apply early with the $ 100 registration fee to insure a spot in the 2015 Alaska PYLI Institute.
  • ASD elective credit by choice for community service available.

New to Steller Orientation Thursday, January 8, Ken’s Room

Parent Group would like to welcome all new students and parents who have recently joined us at Steller!

To help you have the best possible experience at Steller, we would like to invite you to an orientation event from 6:00-8:00 in Ken’s room, this Thursday—January 8th. Parents and students will  be there to share the Steller basics, answer your questions, and help you connect to other Steller families.

Families who joined us late last fall and feel like they could use some more information are welcome as well.

AG Announcements – 1/05/15

Northstar Students—you won’t be going to today.  We will be having a meeting for everyone signed up for Northstar in the MPR during lunch today.  The notice is also on the Whiteboard by the office.

PSAT scores are in.  If you haven’t stopped in to get yours from John do it soon.

Jean’s 6th period Language Arts class will be meeting in Svetlana’s portable for the semester.

Seniors: We will be meeting Tuesday to plan prom. Please come and help. We have less than a month to make this happen.

Remember applications to participate in the Sister School Exchange to Toksook Bay are due tomorrow to Leigh Anne.

Model United Nations will meet this Wednesday at noon in Ken’s class. Make sure to be there. This meeting is very important!

Snow day has been approved by our student body.  January 21!

REMINDER Application due 1/6/15 Sister School Exchange Program

Reminder: If you are interested in participating in the Sister School Exchange program with students from Toksook Bay on Nelson Island, applications are due on Tuesday Jan 6th to Leigh Anne. We will be traveling to Toksook from March 17th-24th and hosting students from May 3-10th.
